Focusing on Abandoned or Neglected Pets

Founded on a strong commitment to compassion and animal welfare, Ayla’s Acres places a particular emphasis on rescuing pets that have been abandoned, neglected, abused, or surrendered due to hardship. Each animal entering the rescue is provided with individualized attention, emotional support, and a structured path to rehabilitation.

With the help of dedicated volunteers, animal care specialists, and veterinary partners, Ayla’s Acres ensures that every rescued pet receives medical treatment, including vaccinations, spay/neuter services, and care for any underlying health conditions. This commitment to both physical and behavioral recovery helps each animal regain trust and prepares them for a successful future with their new families.

Providing Facilities that Support Education, Animal Welfare, and Community Involvement

Ayla’s Acres Animal Resource Center, located on County Road 208 in St. Augustine, serves as a welcoming haven capable of accommodating up to 80 animals. Designed to promote comfort and meaningful interaction, the center offers private meeting rooms where individuals and families can spend quiet, personal time with adoptable pets.

The facility also includes a dedicated educational center that hosts learning opportunities for both children and adults, helping the community explore the importance of humane treatment, responsible pet ownership, and broader animal welfare topics. Situated on a 17-acre property, the Resource Center offers more than animal housing; its features include a no-cost or low-cost spay and neuter program, a community gathering space, an orchard, and staff lodging for onsite caretakers who maintain support for the animals.

These amenities not only enhance the quality of care provided but also reinforce the organization’s mission to serve as a community resource. In addition to the Animal Resource Center, Ayla’s Acres operates the popular Thriftique, located at 413 Anastasia Blvd.

Open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Thriftique offers gently used items whose sales directly support the rescue’s operations. Donation hours run from Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., allowing community members to contribute in meaningful ways. Both locations reflect the organization’s commitment to sustainability, compassion, and community engagement.
