  • Connecting individuals to transitional housing, emergency shelters, sober-living residential opportunities, and other housing-related resources
  • Provides information about community programs and resources for emergency financial assistance
  • Offers free transportation to unhoused/housing-insecure individuals to medical appointments, the DMV, Social Services, Social Security Administration, thrift stores, shelters, and other essential destinations
  • Also offers free transportation to individuals at risk of eviction and can take them to agencies to apply for emergency rental assistance
  • Helps individuals travel to reconnect with friends or family

Connecting Individuals with Housing-Related Support

The Community Outreach Specialist for the City of St. Augustine connects vulnerable community members with a robust network of resources. Assistance includes information on transitional housing, emergency shelters, sober-living residences, rental opportunities, community programs, and emergency financial support throughout St. Johns County and surrounding areas.

Providing Access to Transportation and Other Resources

In addition to providing information about resources that support security and stability, the Community Outreach Specialist also assists with free transportation for individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. This service includes transportation to medical appointments, the Department of Motor Vehicles for identification, Social Services, the Social Security Administration, thrift stores, homeless agencies, and shelters. 

The Community Outreach Specialist provides free transportation for individuals at risk of eviction, helping them reach agencies where they can apply for emergency rental assistance. In addition, through the Police Department’s Family Reunification Program, transportation is available for those who wish to travel to friends or family, allowing them to reconnect with loved ones and begin rebuilding their lives.
