Protecting Life and Property

Comprised of firefighters, officers, and medical responders, the St. Augustine Fire Department serves the community of St. Augustine by responding to fires, rescue operations, disasters, and other emergencies while working to protect life, property, and critical infrastructure. The department responds to incidents such as vehicle accidents, structural fires, and emergencies occurring in homes, businesses, and other buildings.

Working in Partnership with the Community

 Firefighters are also trained to handle hazardous materials and use coordinated response strategies to manage emergencies and maintain public safety. In addition to emergency response, the department focuses on prevention and community education. Firefighters conduct educational workshops and outreach programs in partnership with local businesses, schools, and organizations, emphasizing fire prevention, safety awareness, and proper evacuation procedures to help reduce risks and keep the community prepared.
