Promoting lifelong learning, leadership, development, and gender equity in all fields.

Empowering Women and Girls through the Promotion of Lifelong Learning

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) embraces women of all ages and backgrounds as members, actively fostering a community dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Through its various educational initiatives, AAUW works to empower women and girls by promoting lifelong learning, leadership, and development.

AAUW members can engage in various activities, including study groups, workshops, and monthly brunch meetings. These gatherings build valuable networks, exchange ideas, and discuss pressing social, economic, and political issues affecting women today. They create a supportive environment where members can learn from each other’s experiences, gain insights into advocacy, and drive positive change.

Providing Hands-On Activities and Engaging Experiences

In addition to supporting its members, AAUW empowers the next generation of women. The organization provides free STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) workshops for middle school girls. These workshops offer hands-on activities and interactive learning experiences that introduce young girls to various STEM careers and spark interest in fields traditionally underrepresented by women.
