Supporting and Empowering Young Minds
For over 33 years, St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) has been a steadfast resource for youth in St. Johns County, supporting over a thousand children through its comprehensive coaching, counseling, educational programs, and skills training. Dedicated to nurturing a safe and positive environment, SAYS empowers children and adolescents to build resilience, recover from traumatic experiences, gain life skills, and develop healthy habits that set them up for success.
Equipping Youth with Essential Skills
SAYS offers a range of programs to meet the unique needs of each child it serves. Recreational activities allow young people to engage in structured play, sports, and group activities that promote teamwork and social skills. These activities foster a sense of belonging while encouraging positive peer relationships and building self-confidence.
Through readiness and independent living training, SAYS equips older youth with skills for adulthood. These programs focus on financial literacy, job readiness, personal hygiene, and household management, preparing youth to lead independent, self-sufficient lives as they transition out of care. This training empowers participants and builds a solid foundation for their futures.
Prioritizing Trauma-Informed Care with a Focus on Personal Growth
With compassionate counselors and mental health professionals, SAYS provides trauma-related therapy, coping strategies, and support systems that help children navigate their emotions, understand their experiences, and work toward healing in a supportive, safe environment.
Additional services focus on skill-building and personal development, including educational workshops, mentorship programs, and social skills training. These initiatives help children explore their interests, discover their strengths, and build their confidence to pursue their dreams.
